Supporting the Local Community Through Wellbeing-Focused Events at Headmasters Salon

At Headmasters Salon in Leamington Spa, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting small businesses. Salon owner Keri Chimes has created a space where local entrepreneurs, start-ups, and wellness experts can come together, share their passion, and grow their businesses — all while bringing exciting, wellbeing-focused events to the local community.

Every month, Keri opens the doors of the salon after hours to host a range of events that promote wellbeing, creativity, and personal growth. These events have included menopause workshops with Sara Southgate nutritionist, introduction to crystals with Katy from BeHopimystic, fashion styling nights with Helen Richardson, and even sound baths with Trish Collier. What makes these evenings truly special is that they are entirely community-driven, and Keri doesn’t charge a fee to those using the space.

“I’m not trying to make extra income from this,” Keri says. “It’s about supporting small businesses that complement the values of Headmasters.”

Keri has enlisted the expertise of her friend Holly Nixon from Ta Dah Business Development, who helps manage the administrative side of things, from advertising to ensuring these events run smoothly, and Keri values her contribution so much that she pays Holly a monthly retainer. They use platforms like Eventbrite to manage ticket sales, with all the profits going directly to the hosts.

For Keri, these events aren’t just about supporting local businesses — they’re also a valuable way to introduce new clients to Headmasters. “I see the retainer as a PR and marketing investment,” Keri explains. “Each vendor or workshop host benefits financially, and in return, we’ve seen a lot of new faces come through our doors. It’s a great way to build awareness of our salon and engage with the community in a meaningful way.”

A Win-Win for the Community and Headmasters

Keri’s commitment to keeping these events accessible to everyone is clear, and it even extends to how she manages the logistics. After consulting with her insurance provider, Keri ensured that she could continue hosting monthly events without any additional premium costs, provided she adheres to certain guidelines.

Relax in an inclusive environment, with complimentary tea and coffee provided by the salon. Keri also allows guests to bring their own drinks from home, which means no alcohol license is required. This simple, thoughtful approach ensures that everyone can enjoy the events without added complexity or cost.

“The opportunity is there to make extra income,” Keri says, “but honestly, I’m happy with how things are. I really want to support other local businesses, and in the end, it comes full circle. We benefit as a salon, and so does the community.”

Building Connections and Supporting Wellbeing

At Headmasters, we understand that a thriving local community is essential for everyone’s wellbeing. These events have not only brought local businesses together but have also created a space for individuals to connect, learn, and engage with new ideas. Whether it’s a fashion styling night or a soothing sound bath, each event is an opportunity to nurture self-care and personal growth in a welcoming setting.

By opening our doors for these events helping to build a supportive community where small businesses and individuals can thrive. For us at Headmasters, it’s more than just hosting an event; it’s about creating a lasting impact and giving back to the local area.

Our wellbeing-focused evenings are just one of the many ways we stay connected to the people who make Leamington Spa such a vibrant place to live and work. We’re proud to see new faces at the salon, not only as event attendees but as new clients, friends, and supporters of local businesses.
